Do people who post on LinkedIn realize they’re going to die?
I saw a meme with that line recently. It reminded me of the board game LIFE, which is deep in our collective psyche: when you die, whoever has the highest net worth wins.
It’s time for an update. It’s time for a new game.
In this one, you can still work for Gold, but now you can also meditate for Awareness, or act with integrity to gain Virtue. Which of these 3 resources do you focus on? That depends on your secret quests.
That’s the premise behind my new game, Actualize This™. Players compete for self-actualization, striving to complete their needs. It’s inspired by both western philosophy and eastern mysticism.
Of course, my friends on LinkedIn then asked, do you have plans to make this a digital game? A digital version? I’m very wary that a digital version would not align with our mission statement: we do not view games as being a way to extract money from users, or to disconnect them from the world.
We view games as being one of the original dramatic arts, a way to tell stories and choose personas on a co-created stage, a way to get away from our screens and to express ourselves.
We believe in a world with more artists and fewer critics.
I can’t wait to show you this game. Follow us on our crowd-funding page on GameFound for early access.
